I always wanted a "sacred scale" Imperial Star Destroyer and this seems to be the closest we're going to get without scratch building one.

The plastic on this kit seems a little unusual to me -- softer, moister(?), tends to sand more into clumps/rolls rather than dust/powder.

I was researching the Space 1999 Moonbase Alpha kit, which is essentially 2 kits in 1 -- the moonbase (scaling info varies from 1/1800 to 1/3200) and the Main Mission (~1/100 scale). I have both the older kit and the newer one (new decals, Eagles, landing pads, travel tubes, etc.). I used some reference pics from some completed Main Mission builds (here and
here):

I noted some discrepancies:
    1. Spiral Staircase
    2. Incomplete Commander's Office
    3. Missing Desk Lamps
    4. Missing Desk/Round Turntable
    5. Incorrect Zig-Zagging Computer Consoles

Here's some screenshots:

And Koenig's office:

As you can see, the kit only partially represents his office, notably missing the sunken floor with its couches, table, chairs, etc. Also, the kit walls are erroneously straight, where they should be curved.

I was just wondering if anyone else has researched this and is aware of any kit issues that need to be addressed to make it more screen accurate?

The moon base alpha kit could be in the sacred scale?? :jawdrop:

Older kits seem to list it as 1/3200 scale. On the Round 2 website it is listed as both 1/1800 and 1/2000. I don't know how they came up with their scale estimates. I've measured the new Eagle to be about 12 mm, or ~30m at 1/2500 scale. To me, this is a valid possible size of an Eagle (23m is another number commonly thrown around). This new Eagle seems to be in scale to the Launchpad. Assuming the Launchpad is to scale with the rest of the building/Moonbase, the model may be considered ~1/2500 scale (my interpretation). I may do additional research on the Moonbase itself, but I suspect I would find inconsistent information (Tardis-effect, multiple scales, etc.) that prevents making a conclusive definitive size and therefore exact scaling.

And we have DS-9 all over but with a much older model. Sadly typical of such things.

Wow, that is interesting. Thanks!
