Here's a picture of our Colonial Warriors to the rescue:
They are painted gray with touch-ups of black, red & silver Sharpie and white paint -- NOTE: they are real tiny, a dozen in formation easily fitting within 1 square inch!

Battlestar TOS (too small for 1/2500)

Base Ship TOS (too small for 1/2500)
HUH?! :o

These two, too small for 1/2500?

How so? If both Galactica's, TOS and NU/Reimaged, are both bigger than the Ent-D.

Even if the TOS was 609.6 meters (said by some people), that would be 9.6 inches (24.38 cms) long in 1/2500 scale.

And Both Cylon Basestar's are as big as (if not bigger than) there counterparts...

Sorry if I'm outa place here, but I'm tryin to understand where, or how, you came up with them being "too small for 1/2500"?

I think he means the available models are too small?

Maybe by "too small" he meant the fighters. They are tiny

Yes, this is what I meant. The Monogram Battlestar and Base Ships are too small for 1/2500 - Battlestar would be roughly ~1000m long and Base Ship ~700m long/wide. I'm assuming the ~2000ft/600m estimate for a Battlestar length is wrong.

I have these kits assembled from a long time ago, but not painted or decaled. I would someday like to make a true 1/2500 scale version (likely scratch build since it does not look like they will ever produce one in the "sacred scale").

Bad Azz models offered a 2500 NuGalactica a while back. It went for a pretty penny. A few years ago they even had a sale on it, knocked the price down a little. I couldn't find anyone who wanted to buy my kidney, so I had to pass

I think I remember it being around $550 (on sale??). I'm more interesting in the TOS version.

BTW - I have only the really old Monogram kits - do you know what the changes were for the newer ones? Also, I've heard the Moebius one is much better. Do you agree? How big is that one?

The Moebius kit is, ahem, light years better than the Monogram kit. It is roughly 4100 scale, which is still too small, but in scale with their NuGalactica and NuPegasus. Here is a YouTube video of the kit:

https://youtu.be/F1N0NcqLn1k

A couple of things are still off on the Moebius kit, but nowhere near the number of problems of the Monogram. Just the shape of the alligator head alone was worth it to me.

Here is a thread on the RPF on the subject, with a review by Marko:
