Postby Resin-Modeller » Thu Feb 01, 2018 6:46 pm

Been a while since I've kitbashed, so making this baby up as I go alone lol. Was originally gonna make a trench as Ideas gonna take some inspiration from some of the STO ships but after seeing a few of the Discovery ships adjusted it.

Haha now infant decide what way is forward n what's back..

Next q is would anyone want this as a kit?

Cool looking aside, it's impractical to split the saucer-
The interior would be all blind alleys and switchbacks instead of concentric rings on multiple decks.

However, if it were a science ship dealing with dangerous materials, I could see those side sections as filled with large labs and being ejectable in an emergency....

Stuff like warp plasma, antimatter or virus samples would be cool to study in a section of the ship isolated from the rest.

Could work for dangerous prisoners too.

You've hit the nail on the head why I'm not too crazy of some of the STO and post-nemesis fan designs out there. Decks that go up and down with multiple cut ins but are ultimately on the same level are highly impractical

The photo with with the deflector in the front resembles some of the heavy escorts that are in the Star Trek online game like the Maelstrom, Dervish, or the Tempest
