Re: Gizmo Excelsior
Federation Models --> Model Kits --> Federation Models about a 1/4 to 1/3 of the page down is listed the Excelsior for $35. They're not always in stock, but right now it doesn't say that it's out of stock.

Teach me, master! I am but a humble student...
I want another Gizmo because of the decals. Luckily I scanned them, so I might be able to do something....

Aye, that's where one of my kits is from but not sure which one.slawton wrote:Federation Models --> Model Kits --> Federation Models about a 1/4 to 1/3 of the page down is listed the Excelsior for $35. They're not always in stock, but right now it doesn't say that it's out of stock.
Lower saucer decals on tonight. Also belly blues and front of secondary hull. Rear torpedo area too. I only have 8 days left to finish her so need to speed up a little

Re: Gizmo Excelsior
That rear launcher.....
It is one of the points on the Excelsior that bug me. The forward launchers are neatly incorporated into the hull. The rear ones looks tacked on at the last minute. Why not incorporate them smoothly in the fantail?
I love how this is coming together.

Re: Gizmo Excelsior
I received the other Excelsior today and the decals are better but discoloured. There is some fading towards one end too which puts me off this set but the actual saucer and secondary hull azteks are ok.
I will scan these and put them to one side to alter one day.

For what it's worth, mo, the ventral saucer decals look like they're the right sizemophius wrote:Aye, that's where one of my kits is from but not sure which one.slawton wrote:Federation Models --> Model Kits --> Federation Models about a 1/4 to 1/3 of the page down is listed the Excelsior for $35. Re: Gizmo Excelsior
I did seperate the ventral saucer wallpaper decal as it would have discoloured the blue recessed band putting that one all the way over the top.
Hopefully going to do the rest of the secondary hull tonight

Re: Gizmo Excelsior
This is such a lovely kit to work with even if the decals are wrong. lol
Secondary hull got the attention tonight with the exception of the Impulse crystal.
I had to soak the forward windows just above the deflector to move them up to the top of the hull line. It only took a few minutes of soaking with Microset and they are tacky to touch already meaning the glue hasn't disolved. I know the Microsol will help it stick on though so not that worried. Not sure if I will have any time tomorrow as I am out all day but hopefully I will and I will finish the saucer
