Decal madness. The second sheet of decals was not sealed in and because I was rushing I lost two. Deflector dish and surround. Not too much trouble as I painted them. Saucer edge was doing it too, that I can't fix. A second coat of decal film done the trick. Managed to get the registry on without a hitch.
Nacelles are going to be a nightmare.

The last one has the bit missing from the saucer edge.

Decal destruction. Nacelles, need I say more. Blue dorsal decal broke on me and then wouldn't sit flat. As I was gently pressing down with some wet paper towel it split down the length so I just took it off. Same happened with the black band except the pigment was washing from underneath. Removed that one too.
Top part of the pylons went on ok and they were from the same sheet.
RCS thrusters broke up too, not sure what I will do with them.

Not sure now if I will finish this for the weekend now which is the deadline for the competition. If I don't then I can print off some of my own rcs thrusters.

Forgot to say I painted the black band and the blue dorsal parts on the nacelles.

I did finish this in time for the end of the competition but it was not completed. Some of the decals just didn't want to go on, some tore and others lifted off.
Pylons came off, nacelles don't have registry numbers and secondary hull doesn't have the blue band around it.

That is a sweet bit of work. Sorry you missed the competition. Decals can be a bear.

Looks great! My Gizmo Excelsior was one of nicest to build and still looks good several years later, even more so than the ‘official’ Enterprise-Bs there’s been. Pretty sure I didn’t paint the deflector surround, but it really sets it off on yours!

I had to do something with it. The decal for the dish broke up on me so I painted the dish and it was a little untidy, I painted the surround grey which was also untidy.
I tried again which is why you can see a lighter blue in the center of the dish.

Same thought here. That was a great idea to pain the deflector housing!

I have had my excelsior for well over a year now and as of now I have not started the build.
However, the decals that where included I believe are scans as well.

I forget how long mine has lain dormant. Decals might not even be any good any more.

The problem is it is not a ship I like.
