Eaglemoss Yeager

Post by marcnoonan » Fri Apr 13, 2018 6:05 pm

Hi All,

Has anyone got one of these yet please?

With the Voyager/Armoured Voyager being close enough to 1/2500 I'm hoping they used the same scale Voyager parts so I can add it to my collection before they sell out. They state it's 125mm at 1/3217 which is 402.11m, which is the length that was stated in the DS9TM, but according to Ex-Astris........."Taking into account the used Intrepid components, we obtain a length of 346m. The figure of 402.11m, as in the DS9TM, is definitely too long."

At 1/2500 that 125mm works out as 312.5m, but if the saucer is exactly the same size as the original Eaglemoss Voyager, I'm getting one.

If someone has both could you do a size comparison on the saucer and nacelles please?

And if anyone has a spare Eaglemoss Voyager.......

Cheers

Marc

Hi there,

Is she matching the size of the Voyager/Intrepid class ?
A picture showing both models side by side will be welcomed ;-) , thanks

Try YouTube, search for Irish trekkie
He does reviews of eagle moss models and he has done one for the Yeager. He placed the Yeager and Voyager side by side.
Unless there are two different sizes for Voyager ( I think there might be) then they don't match up.
But take a look for yourself.

Hi there,
got my Yeager today:

as you can see, the primary hull is slightly smaller than the regular Intrepid’s one from the same maker (Eaglemoss),
I just might replace it one day ....

The primary hulls of the Eaglemoss and the RM kits:

very close in terms of size

The Yeager and the Revell minikit of the Maquis fighter:

apparently, the Maquis fighter is really too small, must look for something else
but smaller than the Maquis fighter that E.M. used, it is too big for my taste ....
Does somebody know the sizes of other Maquis fighter models (maybe MicroMachine or something else).

So what I might do .... one day:
primary hull from Intrepid class RM or Eaglemoss
secondary hull of the Yeager Eaglemoss
warp nacelles from Futura Ent-D ‘coz original warp nacelles from Intrepid/Yeager are too much small for my taste.
Indeed, I don’t want a exact replica of the studio model but something more balanced ;)

(Same goes for the Elkins, another long term project  )
