Subject: 1/1350 scale by Polar Lights. This is the production version. I added additional LED's to the shuttlebay and bridge dome. I also customized the bussard dome lights. The model was built using photo-etch brass set by Paragrafix and vinyl paint masks by Orbital Drydock.
This photo was taken in my garage against a "space" backdrop.

Subject: 1/1350 (?) scale by Polar Lights. Extensive modifications were made to the shape of the hull and angle and shape of the wings and tailfin. Window ports were drilled out and fitted with frames using brass tubing. A custom LED lighting system was installed. Two shuttle bays added- one holds a small "Talon" fighter craft, the other functions as an onboard battery compartment for "untethered" illumination. A mirrored display base (with nameplate) and power jack for external battery box connection finished off the project which took almost a year to complete.

Subject: 1/1350 scale by Fantastic Plastic. Resin kit with brass tubing added internally for joint strength, scratch made brass and plastic aft "radiator" panels, other more minor modifications made for studio model accuracy. The model was heavily "aged", primarily using Tamiya pastel chalks, with care taken to duplicate the pattern of "space weathering" seen on the original studio model. Extensive use was made of online photo references during the course of construction and painting.

Subject: 1/1350 (?) scale by AMT/Ertl. Winner of the 2014 AST "Make It So" model contest. Model features a custom LED lighting system with fiber optic strands to light the wing-mounted disruptor cannons. An aftermarket sliding hinge kit allows for positioning of the wings in landing, cruising, and attack modes. Stern warp/impulse engines are fully lit with a red "flickering" effect achieved using LEDs pirated from votive candles purchased at my local craft store.

Subject: 1/537 (?) scale by AMT/Ertl. Model was built several years ago with a Motion Picture style paint scheme. This was an out-of-the box build (yes, you heard right) with no alterations to the kit.

Subject: 1/1000 scale by Polar Lights. I added an LED behind each bussard dome which I tinted orange on the inside. Also added a white LED to the saucer to light the upper and lower domes. The LEDs are powered by 4 button batteries providing 6V of DC current. The batteries are housed in a tray attached to the back of the deflector dish housing.
